Attempting to create a physical version of what an online digital forum might look like, Social Network is an installation using electrical wiring, light switches, and small speakers. The focus of the form is on that of the logistics of routing so many sources of information to so many destinations. The wiring is shaped into a system of connections based on human neurons carrying the audio signal from the source to the various speakers surrounding the wiring. Embedded within this network of signals are switches, which allow for the disconnection and reconnection of various groups of speakers. Viewers explore the cluttered space created by wires and speakers as the audio, dictation of various Facebook posts, adds to the claustrophobic feel of the work.
